Do you think God cares how much money you have? There are those who make a strong case for prosperity. If the sign of a true man of faith is wealth, what about those who do not possess wealth? Do they lack faith or are they in sin?If the gathering of wealth were an important part of the gospel, Jesus would have set the example. Maybe the "God wants me rich" people think Jesus was out of God's will. He did not have a house, car or storehouse full of possessions. He did not eat at fancy restaurants or stay in fine hotels.Lest we be accused of expounding conjecture and opinion, we'll let the scriptures speak for themselves.

For years, the topic of the separation of church and state has been loudly debated. Unfortunately, most of this debate has taken place in the churches in the form of preaching instead of constructive negotiation. Pastors rant against the evil tendencies of the government to strip the name of the Lord from courthouse walls, the pledge of allegiance and the face of our coins. They talk of how Madeline Murray O'Hare was successful in getting prayer removed from the schools. They complain when Christians are refused the use of public buildings for religious meetings. They believe the government is becoming more and more anti-Christian. They are quick to quote Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and anyone else they can think of to prove that the forefathers of the United States intended this to be a Christian nation. Most of the arguments are woefully lacking, with good reason.

"Dad loves you more" Question: How many children have said this? Answer: Every one who has a brother or sister. Each one of my kids (4) thinks I love the others more than I do them. Each one can justify this in their mind. Everyone carries a portion of sadness because of this untruth. Everyone, including me. Do they feel that I love the others more, or that I love them less? How sad to live with this feeling. How sad not to realize how much they are loved.
